Family
Jane’s husband John Dyer shares her love of flying. John, a highly decorated USAF fighter pilot, flew corporate jets for Michelin North America after retiring from the military.
Jane and John have two sons: Bill, a recent graduate of the College of Charleston and Tony, a rising sophomore at Clemson University. Jane also has a stepdaughter, Amy, who is a middle school teacher and a stepson, John, who is a pilot with Southwest Airlines. John just completed his third tour as an A-10 pilot in the Afghanistan/Iraq theatre. Three grandchildren bring constant joy to their lives.
As a young mother, Jane was a youth basketball and soccer coach. She was a leader in her Baptist Church’s youth programs and served as a Deacon. In addition, Jane volunteered at her children’s schools and donated time and energy to charity work over the years.
As a working Mom, I know the challenges first hand facing our families today. We want to give our children every available opportunity while we are working more hours and taking on more responsibility. At the same time, we’re trying to help out with our children’s school, sporting and church activities. To make it even harder, many have lost jobs, health care and even their homes.
We can work together and solve these problems. We can create good jobs right here, we can acknowledge the stresses that face our families, and we can make legislation work for families for a change.
