DYER CAMPAIGN TO GO “BARNSTORMING FOR JOBS” ON SATURDAY

ANDERSON, SC (September 1, 2010) – Third Congressional District Candidate Jane Dyer will fly into six airfields in the district on Saturday to highlight her focus on job creation and her ideas for putting South Carolinians back to work.

Dyer and her husband, John, both pilots and Air Force veterans, will fly throughout the district in their vintage 1947 Piper J-3 Cub. They will visit airfields in Aiken, McCormick, Greenwood, Laurens, Anderson, and Pickens. Dyer will lay out her plans for job creation, take questions and visit with those in attendance for about an hour before departing for the next stop on the tour.

“I am excited to be meeting with voters throughout the 3rd District this Saturday to talk about ways we’re going to get the economy back on track and bring jobs to our communities,” Dyer said. “The past decade has not been kind to our state economically. We have lost tens of thousands of jobs and wages have not kept up with inflation. It is clear we need new ideas and serious leadership to help put our friends and neighbors back to work and move our state forward.”

Dyer pointed out that unemployment in her opponent’s home of Laurens County today stands at 11.5%, a marked increase since he was elected to the S.C. House in 2002, when the rate was 7.6%. That translates into nearly 1,200 jobs lost during that time.

“The people of the 3rd District are enterprising and hard-working. They deserve representation in Washington that will work just as hard every single day to bring economic opportunity back to their communities,” Dyer said.

  1. Seeing Jane and John Dyer fly into the Liberty Airport in their vintage CUB airplane was like seeing all the strenght and long-lasting qualities that I have come to know about Jane shining through in their airplane. The CUB airplane has st…ood the test of time and so will Jane. She has the stamina and energy that we need in a Congresswoman. She has all the goodness and good qualities that every person should strive for. She is honest and everytime I have heard her talk with people, she is straightforward and has some very sound ideas for solutions to the problems we all face in District 3.
